Stashium is a local-first capture library for Mac. Copy anything — links, text, code, files, images — and Stashium catches it from your clipboard. URLs come back with the title, preview, and full article attached. Everything lands in a single SQLite file on your machine. No account. No Stashium server. Optional sync via your own iCloud / Drive / Dropbox folder.
Links, text, code, markdown, rich text, files, images, screenshots, PDFs, EPUBs. Stashium catches whatever lands on your clipboard — automatically, or on demand with ⌘⇧V.
Paste a link. Stashium pulls the title, preview image, and full article body — including lazy-loaded WordPress images and short CJK posts on sites like 4gamers, ETtoday, Apple Daily that other readers come back blank on — so you can read it in peace, even if the source goes down.
A real RSS reader lives below your folders. Subscribe with a feed URL or a regular site URL — Stashium auto-discovers the feed. Read inline, save the good ones to your stash with one click, group your subscriptions, and import/export OPML from NetNewsWire, Reeder, Feedly, or anywhere else.
On-device OCR runs over your screenshots (Apple Live Text + Vision, CJK supported). PDFs and EPUBs get their text extracted. Search hits the body, the OCR'd words, the document text — typing "invoice 2024" surfaces the screenshot whose pixels say so. No cloud, no network.
Free Ollama Cloud account, one key — Gemma 4 31B does the heavy lifting. Open the AI ▼ menu on any clip — text, link, screenshot, PDF, EPUB — for a structured five-bullet summary in the language you choose, or pick Smart Folder to let the model file the clip into the right folder. No credit card. Your key, your quota, no Stashium server in between.
Optional sync across Macs via any folder you already trust — iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Syncthing. Clips, folders, file blobs, and og:image previews flow between every Mac you point at the same folder. Snapshot + per-row last-write-wins, so two Macs with different histories actually converge. Stashium has no server in the middle.
Long article? Long thread? Screenshot? PDF? Open the AI ▼ menu for a five-bullet summary in the language you choose, or Smart Folder to let the model file the clip into the right folder — streamed straight from Ollama Cloud (Gemma 4 31B) to your reader. Your key, your quota, your data path.
Stashium calls Ollama Cloud directly from your Mac. We never see your prompts, your summaries, or your key.
An Ollama Cloud key ships with Stashium, so AI works out of the box: pick a model, open AI ▼, get a summary. No account to create. Want your own quota? Sign up free at ollama.com/signup, paste your key in Settings → AI, and yours takes over. Either way, the key lives on your Mac — Stashium has no server in between.
Same as content, English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, or Japanese. Gemma 4 31B handles all of them; it's especially strong on Traditional Chinese and English.
Any text, link, markdown, rich, screenshot, PDF, or EPUB clip shows an AI ▼ button (wherever Stashium can pull text). Pick Summary or Contents — one click streams a blockquote intro plus five "topic — description" bullets, translated end-to-end including the bullet labels, saved with the clip.
Turn on Smart Folder in Settings and it appears inside the same AI ▼ menu. Pick it and the model selects the best existing folder — or invents a new one with a matching icon — and moves the clip there.
Stashium is built on what it refuses to do.
v0.9.0 is out — Discover auto-detects RSS feeds from any URL you paste, save feed items into your stash in one click, and a smarter Smart Folder that picks specific topics over generic buckets. Plus opt-in anonymous telemetry, off by default.
Made by one person, in the open. Drop a note if something feels off — every bug report is read.
